Welcome to the COPA website!

The Colorado Organic Producers Association works to maintain and increase farmland and to protect existing water resources for sustainable and organic production in Colorado, respecting the unique conditions of the arid west.  We promote a clear understanding of organics and sustainability.  Our mission is to:

  • Connect farmers to farmers, rural and urban agriculture, farmers to land, large and small operations, consumers to farmers, and the various other parts of the food chain.
  • Educate consumers, producers, policy makers, and youth about organic research, issues, methods and the availability of Colorado products
  • Mentor and encourage new farmers

We invite you to become a member of COPA.
Through your support, we

  • will continue to update our COPA website to better inform organic producers, consumers, and wholesalers and anyone interested in organics.  Important new information is made available daily for each of these groups about organic food.  The website will serve as a place where organic news is available for the whole organic community in the state of Colorado.
  • maintain a member LISTSERV linking all of our members–organic producers, professionals, advocates, and consumers–so we can keep one another informed about current issues, opportunities that need our collective attention, and availability of organic products and services.
  • participate in mentoring activities as the need arises. (currently we are working to establish an urban agriculture project with the Denver Public Schools.)
