Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National ParkIf you are traveling with children, you don’t want to miss this stop.  The view is picture perfect and children can seek out an elk, wildlife that live in the stream, and the birds that soar in the sky.  Stop by the visitor center and you may witness an elk grazing nearby.  The Hiwan Homestead Museum is nearby and you can see how people used to live in the beautiful, but harsh, mountains many years ago.  Estes Park is located on the east side of the park and there you will find restaurants, souvenir shops, and a delicious cup of coffee in one of the local coffee houses.  Additionally, this is where the “Stanley Hotel” (which was featured in the film “The Shining”) is located and it is said to be haunted.

The camp grounds available inside the park include: Glacier Basin, Aspenglen, Timber Creek, and Moraine Park.  Trailer and RV length are limited to 30 feet and there are no hookups available.

Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak is a famous summit in America; visitors can drive it, hike it, or use the railway to take you to the top.  While visiting this area, stop by the “Cheyenne Zoo”, “Seven Falls”, and the “Cave of the Winds”.

Royal Gorge Bridge & Park

This amazing gorge is ten (10) miles long and has walls of granite that tower more than 1,000 feet into the air.  Visitors can walk along the bridge or take a gondola ride to the other side of the gorge.  The highest zip line adventure is also found here.

Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve
